The Tuesday night ESL Ministry desires to provide childcare for our adult English students beginning in September as a way to serve more people in the community. This would be a structured time including play, snack, a Bible story, and possibly homework help. We need volunteers to make this a reality! If you have a heart for children and want to share the gospel with your diverse neighbors in Lancaster County, please consider volunteering.
The ESL Ministry hosts English Conversation Practice Nights on Tuesdays, June 11 through July 16, 6:30-7:30 pm. This is an informal time of discussion and snacks with people in our community who are learning English. No preparation is needed and discussion topics are provided. The only requirement is that you are a native English speaker!
ESL Ministry - We have an immediate need for volunteers in a new, Level 1 English as a Second Language (ESL) class for Congolese adults during the Sunday school hour, beginning April 28. Teachers are needed to teach a one-hour lesson approximately once a month. Prior experience in an ESL program is recommended for teachers; a teacher’s guide is provided with the curriculum. We also seek multiple volunteers to assist students during class (ex. help students follow along with the lesson, practice English with the students, etc.). No prior ESL experience is needed to be an assistant—the only prerequisite is that you can speak English! If you’ve been wondering how to get involved in Westminster’s outreach to the Congolese refugees—this is it!
