Westminster Young Adults

Who is it for?

Westminster Young Adults is a discipleship ministry focused on singles in their twenties. Our vision is to create a community for young professionals to do life alongside one another, sharing in joys, trials, and a lot of fun.

When do we meet?

Young Adults meet every Thursday for bible study and fellowship. Every third Thursday we also have an event oriented towards community building. We move around to different locations as families and group members volunteer to host us, so please reach out to find our next location! Typical bible studies run from 7-9 pm.

What do we do?

Beginning summer 2019, we started a series on the book of John. Our leaders are using the Read Mark Learn series published by St Helens as a resource as we teach, but no need to purchase it for yourself!

Read / Mark / Learn is a small group Bible study series that is designed to equip people to study God’s Word for themselves – and in studying it, know God’s purpose for their lives.

Each book is devoted to studying a whole book of the Bible and so enables people to understand Scripture in context. In an era that claims that the Bible can say what you want it to say, it is important to re–establish the truth that you just can’t – if you explain the Scripture with honesty, fairness and in context. Each study establishes:

  • the context, aim and structure of the passage;

  • links with the Old Testament;

  • lessons from each part of the passage – highlighting key issues;

  • practical applications and suggestions.

Aaron Donnachie

I grew up in Lebanon PA, where I attended and helped to lead worship at Zion of Iona United Methodist Church. I attended Hanover Presbyterian Church while attending Gettysburg College where I earned a degree in Biology and a minor in Music. I then began working with my family’s property management company while earning a Masters of Business Administration from Penn State Harrisburg. Last year I felt the call to begin taking seminary classes and am currently enrolled in Reformed Theological Seminary’s Distance MDiv program. I’m thankful to be a part of the Young Adult group here at Westminster and I’m excited to see how God will work! Email: donnachie@westpca.com

Alaina Wheeler

My name is Alaina and I began working for WPC the summer of 2019. I am from Frederick, MD and have been in Lancaster for about three years working with the OneLife Institute gap year program. I received my bachelor’s degree from Grove City College in Entrepreneurship and my master’s degree in Ministry from Capital Seminary through Lancaster Bible College. I love crafting, gardening, dancing, and have a passion for college and young adult ministry. Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in our young adults group at wheeler@westpca.com or 240-357-3088. You are welcome and invited!

Why should I get involved?

Community matters. Being a young adult is such a transient stage of life, full of changes in education, vocation, location, and relationship with others. Whether you’re here for a week or for a few years, we’re glad to have you. God always wants us to be connected to other believers and to love those He has put in our path, no matter the season of life. We would love to get to know you!
