How I came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior: I survived the II World War by the direct design of the Lord. When the first bomb fell in my city in Germany, near Dresden, my first thought was to "find this God who didn't let me die". This became my quest at the age of 9 and carried me through until the age of 19 when He found me here in the United States. I came to this country alone at the age of 13, having been separated from my parents since the age of 2and during the war years. The Lord had His hand on me every moment throughout the bombings and with each attack I was more in Love with This Invisible Friend and promised Him that if He would let live, I would find Him and will live for Him and make Him Happy. It was a beautiful quest and He found me 56 years ago and the bubbles have not worn off yet. It is a beautiful and exciting life walking with the Lord and watching Him change me, use me and surprise me in so many ways.
A favorite verse and why: Song of Solomon 2:6 "His left hand is under my head and His right hand embraces me". What loving intimacy with the Great Lover of my soul. Whenever I get caught up in the "doing" instead of the "being", this verse gets me back on track with the Lord. It is all about Love and Romance with Him. When I'm focusing on that, all my activities for the Lord and for people comes into proper alignment. It is so wonderful.

A Favorite Food/type of food: Anything... I like Italian food a lot, and anything my sister Abigail makes.
How I came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior: I became a Christian at a pretty young age, but due to some misconceptions about what trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior actually meant, I ended up praying the sinner's prayer quite a bit while growing up. I was consistently worrying that I had somehow "said the words wrong" and wasn't actually born again. It wasn't until the 5th grade that I came to realize that being a follower of Christ wasn't simply a "well said prayer" but a life lived in obedient glorification and enjoyment of God. My Sunday School class at church was discussing several points of Calvinism (mainly perseverance of the saints and irresistible grace) which helped to solidify my assurance of salvation.
A favorite verse and why: I like Psalm 1 (all of it) a lot because it's a model of the man I want to become. I also like Jeremiah 29:11 because it reminds me that even if I "haven't figured everything out" God has a plan for my life.

A Favorite Verse and why: Colossians 1:15-20. Very few verses elevate Christ the way that verse does, and if Christ is at the center of your doctrine and theology, you can very rarely go wrong!
